The World Economic Forum yesterday.
The World Economic Forum is set to meet tomorrow in Ibiza. The meeting will come two full days after the organization's last meeting, which took place yesterday in Cancun.
Asked why another meeting was needed so soon, WEF spokesman Klaus Schwab explained, "Although the food in Cancun was excellent and the bars were quite good, there are no great nightclubs there. really. The nightclub sector has really suffered during the global lockdowns and we wanted to help it as much as we could. What better place to do that than in Ibiza."
Some delegates have expressed grave concerns about the location of the forthcoming meeting, with Bill Gates openly questioning the wisdom of holding a conference on an island which has a less than stellar reputation for gourmet dining.
In response to this, Schwab said, "I can assure my old roomate Bill Gates that there are some superb restaurants in Ibiza, especally in San Antonio, and anyway we're flying out Alain Ducasse and Gordon Ramsay to do the catering".
Guests at the event are expected to include British Prime Minister, 'Bonkers' Boris Johnson, and Ireland's Taoiseach for Life, Leo Varadkar.
Asked about Ibiza's reputation for having a drugs problem, Schwab said, "I understand there was a shortage of cocaine last summer, probably because of the lockdowns, but that's been resolved for a while now".
